Electric Blue Acer Cloudbook 14 14 Inches Laptop Review

Acer Cloudbook 14, 14-inch, Celeron N3050, Win 10, Office 365 Personal-1 year, 2GB DDR3L, 32GB, AO1-431-C3TM

The Acer CLOUDBOOK 14 laptop is a notebook computer, great for use as a personal computer. It comes with an average size 14 Inches display and a decent Intel Celeron N3050 Dual-Core 1.6GHz CPU processor. This Acer laptop model would work well for portability with its 3.5 Pounds lightweight design and sleek electric blue look. Great for school work or the family computer, this laptop is worth the price of $229.

This Acer CLOUDBOOK 14 laptop is a mid level computer that is great for your every day home computer needs including watching movies online such as Netflix, visiting social media networks like Facebook and be able to communicate with friends and family online through programs such as Skype and much more! However, if you are looking for a laptop with a spacious hard drive to store your files, we would not recommend the Acer Cloudbook 14, 14-inch, Celeron N3050, Win 10, Office 365 Personal-1 year, 2GB DDR3L, 32GB, AO1-431-C3TM. Whether you need to write your term paper, catch up on work or create the family budget, this Acer CLOUDBOOK 14 mobile laptop allows you to multitask with 2GB DDR3L SDRAM and a mid level processor Intel Celeron N3050 Dual-Core 1.6GHz. Though if possible, we do recommend upgrading the system memory down the road to at least 4GB, which will help increase the laptop speed and multi-tasking abilities.

This review is from: Acer Cloudbook 14, 14-inch, Celeron N3050, Win 10, Office 365 Personal-1 year, 2GB DDR3L, 32GB, AO1-431-C3TM (Personal Computers)
I bought this laptop as a secondary computer mostly to take to the coffee shop and friends houses. It definitely doesn't have enough power to be a main device but its great for browsing the web. I downloaded chrome and it seemed to use too much RAM so I am sticking with the built in Edge browser. The key board is really wonderful and great to type on. The laptop in general is pretty stiff and doesn't feel cheap. The trackpad is a little twitchy but that should be expected with most windows trackpads. It has multi touch gestures which work for the most part. For the price you can't beat it. If you want something a little more than a tablet but not quite a full laptop or desktop.

Of the 32GB on this device, 17gb is taken by Windows 10, leaving roughly 12gb usable for other applications and files. I understand that this is a cloudbook and the idea is to access files from the cloud but this is a joke. Also, the resolution is maxed at 1366 x 768 pixels which is no biggie (competitors have much better screens/resolution) but the screen suffers from terrible viewing angles so don't even think about using it to view videos with multiple people as their experience will be miserable. Additionally, websites look very pixelated on this machine. Otherwise the machine is decent for web browsing, it struggles with high resolution videos on youtube. The 2GB of ram is a mistake as it would have only cost a few cents more to add a 4gb stick with significant improvement on the OS responsiveness. While I applaud the concept of a windows based cloud machine, Acer needs to go back to the drawing board and take a few more notes from the chromebook line. The only good perk about... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good laptop, good battery life, Plays movies for a long time., August 24, 2016

I use this for watching movies when I am waiting somewhere because the battery lasts a long time. The laptop performs perfect. I use a flash drive with movies on it since the hard drive is small. The outside of the laptop is white so most likely it will get dirty, but not a deal breaker. A Mr clean eraser cleans it right up. Boot time is very quick, but the hard drive is very small. Windows 10 is not my favorite but I'm getting used to it. The laptop is very light and thin and the display is good enough for a movie. I like the non glossy screen because it has very little reflections when watching movies outdoors. When the lid is closed in standby it looses about 10 percent of the battery every 24 hours. I left it in standby one day and windows 10 performed updates while it was in standby and ran the battery down. I keep it in airplane mode now when it's in standby to keep wifi activity from doing updates.
