April 11, 2017 This review is from: Alienware AW15R3-3831SLV Laptop (6th Generation i7, 16GB RAM, 128SSD + 1TB HDD) NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060 (Personal Computers)
Great Laptop, handles all of AAA games at the highest settings, nice customization with the lights, great build quality, and great display. The only downside is that it does get a little warm on the more demanding games after about a couple of hours. But the fans does its best to keep it cool despite all of this power crammed into this space and also the fans are kind of loud but I don't notice it after a while. The other downside I forgot is the battery is not that good for games but if you just browse the web it lasts a little longer.I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a good portable gaming setup.

The Alienware 15R3, making a choice!,
April 13, 2017 This review is from: Alienware AW15R3-3831SLV Laptop (6th Generation i7, 16GB RAM, 128SSD + 1TB HDD) NVIDIA GeForce GTX1060 (Personal Computers)
I have had this laptop for two weeks. I will write a more in depth review in the coming month. However I will say this. This was a very dilfficult decision for me. It was between the Asus rog, the MSI, and gigabyte laptops with the same specs give or take..(same GPU CPU and RAM) I chose this because you can get this in the same price range as the other manufactures models with the same specs, however Alienware has done a fantastic job with the quality... I spent countless hours researching every model, before I bought this..For the same price, you can get a GTX 1060, an I7 6th gen( the 7th gen benchmarks like 8 percent higher, and for gaming, I promise this won't matter! The build quality is at least twice as good as the others. It feels like a very well made laptop with metal in areas the others use plastic with. The 300 nit gsync display is very nice and it's LED..Although gsync isn't necessarily a must have. I can assure you it truly helps you have a smoother experience with some...

Everything's fine except for one small thing...,

Oh man, where do I begin...
Presentation and aesthetics
The laptop came in a very secure box. Of course, branded with the Alienware logo everywhere. The laptop is also somewhat heavy. I'm used to Lenovo business notebooks so my opinion may be a bit irrelevant on this point but this is heavier than the average business-style Lenovo. Aside from that, it looks just like the pictures.
The Alienware logo on top of the case glows blue. There are LED strips on both sides of the laptop that glow blue, both on the sides of the screen and the base of the machine. The keyboard has blue backlit LED lighting and the power button, another Alienware logo, can change color depending on how the battery is doing. Lastly, the Alienware logo just below the screen is, you guessed it, blue.
The laptop didn't come with any imperfections in the case or the screen. Everything was pristine. 5/5
The Hardware
Of course, the hardware was as promised in the ad. I'm a...
