3.0 out of 5 stars Exceptional gaming performance, TERRIBLE trackpad. Get an SSD!!!, October 10, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The first thing I did when I received this laptop was install a 256gb SSD. I don't understand why any PC vendor sells any type of PC without a SSD standard HDD. The performance is unacceptable for your main boot/OS/frequently used applications drive. The price they charge for the upgrade is 3x what it costs which is also just unacceptable.

That said, the performance of this laptop for gaming is truly exceptional. However, I wouldn't buy it again and would return it if it weren't too late already entirely because of the poor quality of the trackpad/trackpad buttons. ESPECIALLY the left-click trackpad button. The left-click button is so unresponsive - it doesn't matter how much pressure you apply it just seems to randomly ignore your press. The trackpad is bad but usable. I have stopped using the left click button entirely and just tap the trackpad itself for left clicks. It's possible I have a defective sample, I hope so.

4.0 out of 5 stars Be sure of your SSD choices...., July 20, 2015

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the SSD slots and what will work with these machines. The slots themselves look like PCIe slots, but are apparently not. The specs say Sata SSD. The m.2 "standard" (which apparently is not one) is supposed to apply.
The machine does run hot as many have noted on other reviews. Right where you rest your hands, too. They left out the optical drive supposedly to make room for more cooling and drives, but apparently then took away the extra standard 2.5 slot that the previous models had. Good or bad, this might be spelled out better in the sales pitches, as well as the Amazon recommendations for the correct SSD boards that fit the machine.
I spent a day researching and trying to decipher who was right and who was wrong on the forums.

So far I'm happy with it , sometimes it would run hot (fan kick on ) so I purchase a cool pad that helped out a lot maybe 50% but over all its everything I needed.
