Purely a business design not user friendly. My mac is looking like patient in ICU with all adapters. 69 of 74 people found the following review helpful MacBook Pro (It Rocks), August 7, 2017 Purchased this laptop to replace a 2013 model. I have been blown away by the speed, the bright crisp display. The keyboard takes some getting use too for sure, but it's not bad. I know I will get use to it quickly. The big trackpad is very nice. Then there is the touch bar, which is interesting. I have really gotten use out of it and I really didn't think I would. The one thing about this model too is that it has 4 USB-C Thunderbolt 3 Ports. The non touch bar version only has 2. Also I really like using Touch ID to be able to login to my computer. Overall this is a sweet MacBook Pro and I know it will last me for awhile given the 2013 model has giving me great performance for many years. One thing even though this machine was described as Used- Very Good. Which I got it for $200 less than full retail and no tax ($1599) Maverick Macs. It has zero scratches on the case, the display is perfect. The only way I could tell it was used, was because the battery cycles was like 8... I use the escape key a lot (e.g. when using Vim) and not having a physical key for feedback is annoying.
The biggest issue though is how they replaced the mag-safe power cord with usb-c. Several times I've had someone accidentally step on the cord and send my laptop flying off the desk. This didn't happen on my old laptop where the cord would just unplug.
And it's 2018, why does it cost ~$2k for a laptop with 16GB of memory? I upgraded my 2012 Macbook Pro from 4GB to 16GB myself for $100 back in 2012. 6 years later I have to settle for 8GB and Chrome alone takes up 4. |
