This is bad for two things,
August 16, 2017 Very slow at first, lots of updates, had to remove bloatware, but after everything is loaded it picks up. Its still slow though. Also, the power button is on the keyboard. This is bad for two things: one, I've already hit it accidentally twice, forcing me out of discord in the middle of a league of legends match and disconnecting me temporarily from it. its looks and feels like a regular key. Two, if any keyboard malfunctions while screen is also malfunctioning, you cannot turn off the machine. The battery is internal so you might have to unplug it and wait it out. There is a way to make the button only sleep the screen or not do anything unless you hold it down, but i also want to you know, occasionally shut down my laptop.
Other than that, its a beautiful laptop. I really enjoy the back light keyboard because i'm often up very late. WASD are bordered to quickly find them, as well as the w key has a bump like f and j keys do. The shift is close to the arrow keys but i'm...

So a quick overview of what's good about this guy, whats great, and whats not,
March 8, 2017 This review is from: ASUS GL753VE-DS74 17.3-Inch Gaming Laptop GTX 1050Ti 4GB Intel Core i7-7700HQ,5400RPM HDD (Personal Computers)
So a quick overview of what's good about this guy: you won't get tech this powerful for this cheap anywhere else. i7700, the 16 GB DDR4 RAM, the video card, the cooling system (which works great BTW). So- given all of that, these are the reasons I gave it 4 stars and not 5.
1) The camera sucks. Like really sucks. And that's fine with me, I didn't buy it for a camera, but just so you know.
2) The keyboard is a little too twitchy for me, but I am not gaming with it, I am doing BIM and CAD, which requires about what a gaming machine requires as far as hardware. It would have been nice if they designed some wrist rests into this keyboard, but I ahve gotten used to it.. Also, being a lefty, I don't like how the right side shift key is. I use that one all the time, and its small. This is the key design that tries to fit a numerical pad in there, and I will never use that pad. But i know some people find that essential. If you use the left shift key like my wife does,...

Amazing gaming laptop!!!! ASUS gets my vote over Alienware!,
January 25, 2017 Pros: Excellent graphics performance. Comfortable keyboard. No bloatware. Doesn't get hot.
Cons: Sound volume at maximum is still not very loud. Okay battery life.
Verdict: ASUS ROG strix offers excellent gaming performance in a stylish chassis with around 4 hours of battery life.
Design: The Asus is an attractive laptop that is about twice the thickness of a Thinkpad (see pics) but is still light and portable. There is a red Asus logo light on the back of the cover and the stereo speakers are red on the front of the case. The keyboard is chiclet style but works well. I wish it was a mechanical keyboard but can't complain for the price.
The mousepad is standard for a gaming laptop and works well.
Display: The display is HD and has a wide viewing angle but is still gets dim at the edges. If you are sharing the screen with a friend watching a movie you will notice some dimming unless you are very close to each other. There is no...
