If you're in a skimming mood scroll to the bottom and read my second complaint first. It's critical you do. It took this five star unit down to three stars. If you're willing to do what I did you can add a star or two back on my review. -- BACKGROUND -- I was EXCLUSIVELY a Mac guy from 1986-2015. (How's that for stubborn?) My wifey needed a 15 inch PC laptop for specific Windows software. The only Mac 15inch is two grand and I just couldn't let Apple be that greedy. So I tried a previous version of this ZenBook (UX305FA). Loved the hardware but 8.1 was SO TERRIBLE I returned it to Amazon on the grounds of unacceptable OS. I'm not a Mac snob. It was simply terrible. When Windows 10 came out I had hope. Got a K Series Asus Vivobook to try again. The Vivos don't compare in quality to these ZenBooks but it was a 15 inch something like the Mac (i7, 256ssd) for only $799. Turns out Windows 10 was stable, easy... My 2013 MacBook Air died, and I was debating between this (my budget option) and something more expensive and even MORE portable like the new Mac Book or simply another Mac Book Air. The new Mac Book 12.1 inch is just over twice as expensive as this. Shipping was fast, product arrived unopened in perfect condition. Display: I think less high def than several mac's I've tried, but over all it's great if you don't need something extremely fancy. Battery life: AMAZING. Just used it for 8 hours on one charge (running 1 simple program, 2 different web sites, just 1 hour or so of "break time" without usage). My Air couldn't do that. Keyboard: full size, they don't do weird things with key placement and they are perfectly pleasant to click. I'm satisfied. Trackpad: I love the glassy feel, very sensitive. I don't really have any use for the right and left click feature, but if you like it, it's there... Having to carry a ton of heavy books each day downtown, I needed something light and small. I did a lot of research and was nervous about punching a core m3. I knew I wanted an ssd drive. I decided to buy this after about two months of reviewing this product. I was surprised at the design, the weight, and the ease of the keyboard. However, I didn't realize there is no "home" or "end" key for accessing the top and bottom of pages quickly, so this slows down document viewing a bit. I'm sure there's a trick to it though. There is also no numerical key section, but that's fine. They keyboard is not very noisy, which is wonderful. The screen does have a reflection which is a pain when there is light reflecting behind you. The speed of browsing the Web is great. I so far have had about 6 word documents open with 7 tabs and had no issues. Start up is a breeze and the battery life got me through two days of classes without charge. This...
