PROS, CONS, & FEATURES: It isn’t as light as a tablet but it’s okay at 3-1/2 lbs. Audio & volume is okay but not intended for audiophiles. Sometimes when streaming, the video has its own sound volume and the computer volume is additional so, at times, I adjust both to max the sound, if needed. If I need more, I use a wireless Bluetooth speaker for a better music sound. The resolution is superb! I had to take it down a few notches though, so the taskbar icons, etc. would be bigger (only because I have older eyesight); yet, it still is crisp in detail. It seems of good construction like other Dells, especially the lid hinges, which I’m glad about due to frequent changing over to tablet mode. The 3 USB ports are great, 1 is USB2, another is USB3, and the 3rd one is USB3-C (has the charging capability when the laptop is shutdown but plugged in). Haven’t... I think I've been able to fix them all (see below) and am writing this in the hopes it will help save other buyers trouble and headache. I wouldn't recommend this laptop given the problems I had and the time I spent on it. Without the fixes the laptop was unusable. However, with my last fix the laptop actually seems to run well (so not a one star) but I don't think the average user will know enough to go through the fixes needed. There's also still the bad placement of the very sensitive power button on the side of the laptop that is very easy to hit accidentally whenever I shift or adjust the position of the laptop. Problems: 1. Audio. Speakers stopped working properly. The sound would start initially then fade or crackle out. Figured out that if you disabled the Realtek Audio driver and just used the generic Intel HD audio driver sound would work. Problem was with every update (not sure if... This laptop converts to a tablet, has a touchscreen that works in either mode, and is unbelievably light, powerful, and durable. I love having a laptop that is so convenient to take to class, it fits easily on the small desks for lectures too. I would recommend this for anyone, especially at this price! :) Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? |
