Pros: super quick. easy on the eyes ;) picture quality is great, touch screen works amazingly! read a lot about the keyboard being too shallow, i don't think so at all. track-pad is smooth and responsive. hardware works well (i'm not a gamer so can't comment on gaming) solid build quality (everything about this laptop is pretty much top class)
Cons: -Webcam is at an odd place (bottom left) if you do a lot of interviews or something a long those lines it could get annoying. -I've had WiFi issues (windows 10 problem, not hardware), so make sure you update all your drivers and bios from the dell website. -It is difficult to open the laptop up, will have to use both hands. 36 of 38 people found the following review helpful Worthy Macbook replacement, but not without its faults, June 10, 2017 i7/512gb/16gb/touch screen Long story short - our friends in Cupertino missed a huge opportunity in thinning the bezels of the 11" Macbook Air, investing the extra space in battery power, and keeping some regular ports. The Dell XPS 13 is a decent successor to my last laptop. There are some things that are great, and others that, for lack of better words, really piss me off. I'm curious to try out a new X1 Carbon and see if my opinion changes. The screen is gorgeous, and the touch functionality works reasonably well. It's a quick computer, and the keyboard isn't too bad for the form factor (though I feel like I have to push harder on the keys than my work laptop - an HP 820 G3 with a screen bezel the size of Texas). It's nice being able to run Excel in a proper way on a laptop (I'd love to never touch Mac Office again). There are only two things that really drive me crazy, and they have me on the edge of returning the laptop. First off - the coil... And that is saying something considering my standards nor desires were very ambitious. I wanted something that was quick, and easy to transport. As per usage, I would be using the Microsoft Suite, Snag-It, Window's Explorer and light internet browsing. That being said, the device has failed for the following reasons: 1) despite FAQs and adjusting settings, the computer continues to die after 24 hours of being in hibernation in part because of the quick launch "helper" that I repeatedly try to turn off. 2) After I have plugged it in and it's regained some power, it gives me blue screens of death, asks for a BitLocker, or other such problems. All in all, every time I've turned this thing on, it's been an uphill battle. Which is extremly disapointed since all I trully wanted was something to scrapbook my advantures and it couldn't even do that. |
