I nearly canceled my order as the X1 Yoga was announced right after this went live on Lenovo's website on the last day of 2015, but the small form factor and favorable price won out. I custom built my model with the exact same specs as listed on this pre-built unit on Amazon (256 SSD, 8 GB, and 1920x1080). I paid Lenovo about $130 extra for the privilege, but it's partially a work reimbursed purchase, and I expect that being first out of the gate. Coming from a bargain-bin ThinkPad Edge E420, I won't even bore you with the comparison -- it's night and day. This unit weighs in at a svelte 46 ounces -- that's about 2.9 pounds. It's just over 12 inches across and about 3/4" thick, so while not the thinnest, it handles like a very sturdy machine. Windows 10 boot time is on the order of seconds, and it runs very quietly, although there is a fan that kicks in, particularly when I'm using it on my lap (blocking the vents I... It has taken me an hour or so to get everything set up and all my programs installed. The install and update of the laptop itself was about 30 minutes. It has little tiny settings on it which was driving me nuts but I found out how to make them bigger in the settings. It would be great for younger eyes on the little stuff but once you hit 40 your eyes don't see little things as well. YOU CAN CHANGE THAT. I am still getting used to it because the mouse, touchpad, and a few other things are different that my last laptop. Part of the reason I got the new laptop was because the previous laptop was way larger and was taking up too much room on my desk and the fan was pretty loud. This one I can hardly hear the fan. I did have it sitting on my lap on top of some blankets and it started getting pretty warm so I grabbed a box and put it on top of that and it cooled right off so be careful about having it on blankets. I found themes I could... Read more Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful 1st impressions are.. Hey: its really great, July 15, 2016 This review is from: Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga 260 12.5" Convertible Ultrabook, Full-HD IPS Touchscreen, Intel Core i5-6200U 2.3GHz Dual-Core, 256GB Solid State Drive, 8GB DDR4, 802.11ac, Bluetooth, Win10Pro 64-Bit (Personal Computers) I've only had it for about 12 hours and so far it's great .. the things I like best are the keyboard travel and feel, the light weight but sturdy body , the SSD speed, the Win10 and MS Office integration and ease of setup, the almost instant login if you turn on and use the fingerprint reader, the battery life which I can tell will be really good since its been ON several hours and am only at 50%, the screen display resolution is fine (but no it's not as good as a retina iPad), the touch screen's pointing resolution is fine, I like the speedy Wifi, the pen looks like it might be useful in annotating and grabbing screen shots to send to friends. ( but it only works with MS Edge not my Google Chrome browser)..YT and other videos are fine too..
but most of all it will suit my needs for a truly portable PC just fine .. I hope I feel the same way in a month once I've had a chance to really set it up with all my apps and use it a bit more.. So, More to follow.. Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? |
