Power for the price,
February 10, 2017 This review is from: Lenovo Y700 - 15.6 FHD Gaming Laptop (Intel Quad Core i7-6700HQ, 16 GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD, GTX 960M) 80NV00W4US (Personal Computers)
This computer is extremely powerful for it's price. Note that I got this
Pros:
- Can play games at Medium/High with decent framerates.
- Graphics card is really good for Laptop
- Processor is good for laptop
- 16GB of RAM allows running many applications simultaneously - good for developers as well as gamers
- HDD + SSD allows you to boot quickly, play games installed on SSD with shorter loading screens,
and gives some room for miscellaneous content on HDD.
- Speakers are good: they have good volume but can be a little tinny for audiophiles
- Screen is good: colors look sharp, 1080p display at this price range is nice
Cons:
- Heavy: this wasn't a problem for me but if you are looking for something lightweight, look elsewhere

Amazing laptop!! Would recommend!!!,

Don't fall for all those extra gimmicks and features shown in recent gaming laptops. This one is just enough (especially if you happen to use modeling softwares, as well as drafting softwares).
So if you're an architecture student like me, who needs a powerful enough machine to get your daily rendering/projects done without much hassle, then this laptop is for you.
If you happen to also be a casual gamer who doesn't really care about high end gaming and wants to have a laptop that is capable of handling most recent games, then this laptop.is.for.you!!
You will not regret having this laptop. Just one thing to bear in mind. This Lenovo is a bit heavy, but it didnt bother me one bit!

Solid Mid-High End Gaming Laptop for a Lower-End Pricetag,
November 25, 2017 This review is from: Lenovo Y700 - 15.6 FHD Gaming Laptop (Intel Quad Core i7-6700HQ, 16 GB RAM, 1TB HDD + 256GB SSD, GTX 960M) 80NV00W4US (Personal Computers)
This is my 2nd Lenovo laptop and I am quite satisfied with it. 256 GB of SSD is just enough to be able to install office programs and several games like Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty and still have plenty of wiggle room in my OS hard drive. A Solid State Drive makes this laptop so much faster than computers I've owned in the past. A reboot takes about 20 seconds; at least 3 times faster than my other Lenovo which also has an i7 processor and 12 GB of RAM.
I try to keep most of my files stored on the 1 TB HDD to save space on the Operating System's 256 GB SSD. A bigger SSD would be nice but for the price, I'm satisfied with what it came with. The graphics card allows fluent game-play on Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty even at the highest detail levels. Also, the built-in speakers live up to the reviews I read about them. Big sound for a laptop.
