It features a brand new Intel i7-6700HQ mobile processor, 4GB NVIDIA GeForce 980M dedicated graphics adapter, 32GB of DDR4 memory, a 512GB smoking fast Samsung SSD, 1TB spinning hard disk for media and your files, a Blu-ray Disc recorder, Windows 10, and a 15.6″ IPS 1080p display. Normally I save the summary for the last part of my reviews, but in this case you have to know right now this is a fantastic PC if you are doing video editing, gaming, or just about anything you might want to use a PC for. During my extensive testing I wasn’t able to find anything this computer can’t do well (except maybe fit into a small laptop bag). Initial Impressions After working with talented packaging engineers at Whirlpool, I often consider the packaging of the products I review or encounter in my daily life. The Predator’s packaging was well... Need to play more but so far, the display is really nice, clear and very bright. The keyboard lights are cool & don't bother me like some. The sound is amazing. I used it for hours and it never got even slightly hot like all my other laptops. The fan is pretty loud when you turn it up but it wasn't needed & remained pretty quiet normally. I don't see needing the extra cooling pack but who knows. Everything ran pretty fast and smooth. I don't like Windows 10 since I've been using Windows 7 on previous laptops. I wish I could change it to 7 but it seems like it would be a hassle. I'm not sure I'll keep it because I'm worried about the future. I need a system that will last awhile since I don't buy new PC's often because I prefer not to. This is Acer's first real high powered laptop and I'm sure they will have significant improvements in future models unlike other companies who have had their systems out there and most likely made all the huge improvements... This thing it s BEAST! The specs are listed above, so no need in me covering those. This thing is handling any workload I throw at it, and the gameplay is amazing. ( I've never want to try editing a custom game in Unreal Engine 4 while in the middle of playing a different new pc game, but good to know it can). I bought this laptop because of the 17.3 inch's baseline starting price & the expandability for upgrades when needed. ( 16gb RAM starter with room to go up to 64gb, not one but two PCIe ssd slots, etc.) . So far very happy about my order. Sure, this laptop ( portable desktop? ), cost more then the first two vehicles I owned, but even the mechanical keyboard feels like each stroke as caressing my finger tips to pure...ummm... If you are looking for a new rig & like to have one that is not only powerful but going to get noticed (come on, the damn thing is called "Predator", its going to get noticed), then I highly suggest you spend the time...
