One flaw..., January 1, 2017 This review is from: 2017 Dell Inspiron 17.3 Inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Touchscreen Signature Edition Laptop, Intel Core i7-6500U 2.5 GHz, 16GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, DVD +/-RW, 802.11AC, Bluetooth, HDMI, Win 10 - Silver (Personal Computers) Fabulous! However; this one is heavy, so I would not consider it for travel or any other 'portable' use. We have gone completely wireless in our house. We have no more phone landline and no more desktop computer. Since this is going to be our main computer in our home, we wanted the biggest screen since no monitor on a desk. We had the Dell 23 inch monitor with our desktop which we gave to my parents so we were used to a larger screen size. This did not disappoint. Though smaller, it is still plenty sufficient. We love the clarity and depth of color. It is super easy to set and very user friendly. We did purchase a Dell wireless mouse because hubby is not a fan of the mouse pad nor using the touchscreen (both of which I LOVE!). The mouse paired seemlessly with it. Neither of us are any type of 'gamer' on the computer. We use it for basic things; email, online shopping, surfing the internet, accessing our work sites to accomplish tasks for our jobs... The description clearly states that this laptop has 16GB DDR4 memory, but it doesn't... it has 16GB DDR3 memory; interestingly, the Intel Core i7-6500U does not even support DDR4 memory, so their description is an impossibility. Also, while the description states this to be a "2017 Newest Dell Inspiron 17.3 Inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) Touchscreen Signature Edition Laptop, Intel Core i7-6500U 2.5 GHz, 16GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, DVD +/-RW, 802.11AC, Bluetooth, HDMI, Win 10 - Silver", that is inaccurate and misleading; it is not the *Newest* release in the Dell 5000 series model line, nor does it have the DDR4 memory as stated. It is just the newest release of this model 'with the touchscreen option'. Stating "2017 Newest" in the description when it was really released in 2016 is an unwarranted sales gimmick in my opinion... Now i have it, and i'm very happy with it. it even stays relatively cool even when it's resting on blankets and uses a lot more energy for the bigger screen and backlit keyboard. my only issues related to this purchase have been with how invasive the new windows 10 software is. but that's nothing to do with dell. there are 2 negatives to this purchase: 1. it's really heavy. really heavy. laptops are meant for travel but i don't think ill be taking this one anywhere. i'm going to clean out my hp that has a smaller screen and is much lighter. i will continue to use it for travel when i go to my moms house since i hate her imac. 2. but the major issue is that...
