5.0 out of 5 stars Update -- Recent updates have made it great, January 4, 2016

It is close to being a good computer, but I think it needs one more generation to work the kinks out. First off, let me say that I am a professional software engineer and computer expert, so my experience likely isn't user error. So with that said, this is what I think. Any one of these items probably would not be enough to disqualify the laptop, but all combined, it is not an experience up to my expectations.
- When I first got the laptop about three weeks ago, it wouldn't recognize the wifi card. All I had done to that point is go through the Windows setup screens and set the timezone, my user name, etc. So literally 5 minutes into the experience. I had to go into the system properties, disable the wifi card, and then re-enable it. Very strange. It has worked fine since then but it was not a great start.
- A couple of times during system reboots for Windows updates, software installs, or whatever, there is a BIOS message saying the hard drive couldn't be found. It does... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Apple like quality for a bargain price! Only a minor flaw., November 26, 2015
***12/3/15 Edit: From what I've read, It's not Dell's fault for buggy drivers. It's actually Windows 10 and the new 6th gen Intel chips that are the main issue. The hardware seems to be brand new so they're still trying to optimize it for Windows 10, which is also a brand new software. Other laptops with 6th gen processors are experiencing the same issue and Microsoft is making updates to fix these issues! Strongly recommend to get the latest Windows 10 update when you get this laptop and update all the drivers as well. I also added more info on, thankfully, why I made the right decision and chose this over the Surfacebook. I also added pictures.***

I didn't buy the Dell XPS 13 9350 on amazon since I have a Microsoft Store near me and I'm also able to get a student discount on my purchase. If you want pictures I can provide pictures that I do in fact own this product.

From first glance, this ultra book is absolutely stunning! The aluminium body looks and feels... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars My in-depth, unbiased review of the Dell XPS 13 Skylake QHD, December 26, 2015

System Speed: 9/10
- I have the i5+8gb RAM+256gb SSD; Unless you do heavy video editing or converting you won't notice the upgrade to i7 (Both are dual-core and have the same features except the i7 has a slightly higher clock speed).

Display: 10/10
- The QHD screen is GORGEOUS! You will sacrifice some battery life, however. The touch screen works fine. All versions have this weird automatic dynamic contrast firmware that can't be disabled that brightens/darkens screen depending on what is shown on it and that's why some people may say it isn't as bright as they wanted. Dell released a firmware update for the previous XPS 13 version saying it doesn't work on the 9350, but it does. Contact me if you want to know how to disable this (only works on the QHD model). It's actually a very simple process and does not effect any other aspect of the machine. Btw, yes there is reflection, but you get used to it, unless your office is outside or something.
