4.0 out of 5 stars Great for basic productivity and simple games, easy to use, but so-so screen, August 19, 2016

A Chromebook is essentially a basic laptop that can only run a web browser. That means that any apps/games it can use have to be the kind that run inside a browser - but web technology has improved so much over the years that today, most web apps are nearly indistinguishable from regular desktop apps. You can find and install these apps via the included Chrome web store, and nearly all of them are free.

Making a computer like this is a big win for simplicity; although I don't think a Chromebook is the best choice for a geek/power user, it will do a fine job for basic stuff like email, web browsing, word processing, spreadsheets, games (mostly of the lightweight variety), and even video calls (but you have to use the Google Hangouts app; other popular apps for video calling like Skype aren't available yet though supposedly Skype is in the works).

Another difference compared to a regular computer is that there really isn't any hard drive; apps and data live online... Read more

Everything about this latop is spot on! I just needed something light and small that I could take to class and use for notes. I also use it as a little web browser. That's all I needed and it is the perfect tool for it! I'm 100% satisfied.

The computer is very balanced (screen and base weigh about the same) giving it a surprising feeling of sturdiness for the price.

It's nice a quick as long as you only have a few browser windows open at a time. You have access to tons of android aps. I mostly use google drive.

I was surprised by how much I liked the mouse pad. You can use three finger swipe to swtch between aps. Two finger swipe to scroll. 1 finger click for left click, 2 finger click for right click. Now the actual click isn't super sensitive (you have to really press it) but I know I'm spoiled by my hubby's mac which has arguably the best mouse pad on the market.

Battery life is as advertized. I really like the coutdown on the task bar... Read more
