They've been the deal of the day a number of times and I've bought them elsewhere too. I'm a computer tech who works with some small offices that need windows touch screen computers for an app or two. I also think they make a great student laptop. This third gen has an updated processor, a little longer battery life, and supposedly a little stronger frame. These are in no way a powerhouse, but for a laptop of this size and price they're very nice. It works well as a laptop and it works well as a tablet when you convert it. Yes they're clunky. For their size they have a big bezel around the screen, are a little heavier than you would expect and aren't as thin as some. This is a little over 3 pounds. But on the flip side of the coin, they can take a beating. They have a strong frame and are rough-and-tumble ready. They're military spec--whatever that means. I give the Yoga 11e to my kids. Is this not crazy slow for internet browsing for everyone? Amazon takes 10 to 15 seconds to load up. Never had such a slow computer. It starts up windows very quickly from the SSD which is nice but surfing the internet is a very frustrating task as you literally watch it build every single little thing like we are back in a dial up world. The other computers in the house cruise along just fine on the internet but this one is the last resort option for us. Which is the exact opposite of why we purchased it. i.e. small, easy to grab and look up something on the internet. So not sure what to do. Wondering if others have experiences along these lines. UPDATE: So I went to Lenovo and download their service bridge/system update software. After doing that, it identified there were zero critical, six recommended and five relevant system updates. One was BIOS update. Several were sound and graphics related. One was for the blue screen of... It does a good job accessing the internet, running office applications, doing email and playing videos.
Pro's 1. Very reasonably priced especially when compared with Macbook Air or MacBook Pro which cost 3 to 5 times as much. 2. Solid, durable Lenovo construction. 3. Touch screen (something Apple Macbook doesn't offer) 5. Windows 10 Pro - Runs Anniversary edition very well. 6. Expandable - Memory can be easily expanded to 8 GB and you can add up to a 256 GB SD card. 7. Affordable - I paid $306 8. Very good screen resolution
Con's 1. Heavier than some similarly sized laptops - but you'll pay more for those 2. Not flashy - Black Matte finish Help other customers find the most helpful reviews Was this review helpful to you? |
