5.0 out of 5 stars Just do it!, March 21, 2015
This review is from: The New Razer Blade 14" QHD+ Touchscreen Gaming Laptop 256GB with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics (Personal Computers)
Purchased this laptop two weeks ago and am very glad I did. Bought it direct from Razer since Amazon was OOS when the CC had enough room on it (missed it by a single day there). Laptop is super thin, light, and very powerful. Keyboard is super-responsive with great keys (as you would expect these days from a top shelf laptop). I also picked up an USB3 to GbE/USB3 hub so that I could connect to the LAN either at home or at work (for larger file transfers). I suspect that once I upgrade my home wifi to 802.11ac (at least dual band) I won't really need the GbE part.

Display on the laptop is the best I've ever seen. Great highlights and shadows on it, with a super-tight resolution to boot. It is a bit of an issue when an application doesn't accept the zoom level increase set in the OS (8.1 Pro after getting the Pro Pack upgrade). Luckily the list of those apps is short.

When I was looking for a new laptop, this was at the top of my list. Main reason was the processor... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars ++ Slim, ultraportable design will see you gaming in style ++, March 3, 2015
This review is from: The New Razer Blade 14" QHD+ Touchscreen Gaming Laptop 256GB with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics (Personal Computers)
The newest Razer Blade ultraportable gaming laptop has a lot to love, but a higher price and some performance issues.

Pros:
+ Slim, ultraportable design.
+ New Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M graphics card.
+ Upgraded graphics.
+ Touch capability.

Cons:
- Runs hot.
- High-resolution display may actually hamper performance.
- Shorter battery life than previous model reduces portability.

All in all a top gaming laptop with great features, but still worth comparing to this Asus ROG Laptop on specs: http://amzn.to/1wQjDZq

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, sleek but can get noisey, April 17, 2015
By
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought the Razer Blade because I wanted a sleek Windows laptop that was powerful enough for games development and gaming.
It was between the Razer Blade and Alienware but I opted for the Blade because of form factor.

While Razer have addressed the issue of hot surfaces from previous generation of the machine, the redesign comes at a price. The internal fans can spin up and be quite loud even when the machine isn't under load. The fans turn on and off as required so it isn't a constant noise and the machine can be almost silent for the majority of the time.

The touch screen is responsive, the keyboard well laid out and the performance is on par with my desktop machine meaning I can take my gaming and game development with me.
