November 14, 2016 This review is from: HP ENVY 13-ab016nr Notebook (Intel Core i5-7200U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) with Windows 10 (Personal Computers)
Pros:__________
- Minimum plastic, as almost all is built from aluminum.
- The design closely resembles as a MacBook.
- When opening it up the back hinge raises the keyboard which makes it extremely comfortable when typing.
- Backlit keyboard.
- SSD drive is fast and a great upgrade to have on any computer.
- Battery life can reach close to 14 hours, but with video / programming usage it’ll last to 8 hours.
- Sufficient volume limit.
- The latest the USB 3.1 is built in (of course you’re getting HDMI, headset jack, etc.).
- A Decent webcam that is still in good use when dealing with low lighting.

A personally fitting laptop with a reasonable price tag,
November 29, 2016 This review is from: HP ENVY 13-ab016nr Notebook (Intel Core i5-7200U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) with Windows 10 (Personal Computers)
HP ENVY 13-ab016nr Notebook (Intel Core i5-7200U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) with Windows 10To give a little background, I pre-ordered this laptop after doing a sizable amount of research on several different laptops that fit my general needs and it arrived on the 15th of November (I've had it for about two weeks now). My brother owns the HP-Spectre 2-in-1 and a couple of friends own older models of the HP-ENVY-15. The large majority of my friends have MacBooks. After researching laptops for the past 3 months, I decided to go with the HP Envy 13, and I'm really glad I did.
I wanted something that was powerful enough to run Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as something that I could code on and this machine fits the bill. The Kaby Lake core i5 processor (the latest generation chip) coupled with 8 GB of RAM really makes this thing fly. The 1920x1080 pixel screen has a great color profile with decent contrast, and is one of the best screens I've seen in a sub $600 laptop, and images are vivid and crisp on this beautifully bright IPS panel. I've had no issues with overheating or a loud fan as some people have noted, and I've put it through its paces.
The build quality on this is awesome, with it's all aluminum body. Very solid and feels good to carry around. It's also a very stylish, attractive machine that rivals the design of a macbook. It's also very easy to type on this (which was a big selling point for me...
